Schalke 04 vs Manchester United
Semifinal UCL kali ini merupakan pencapaian terbaik Schalke 04, bagaikan kuda hitam yang berlari kencang melibas semua lawan-lawan yang menghadangnya, korban terakhir adalah sang juara bertahan Inter Milan yang mereka sikat dengan keunggulan gol aggregat 7-3 (setlah di kandang Inter mereka menang telak 5-2), korban sebelumnya adalah sang kelelawar Spanyol, Valencia yang takluk 3-1 di kandang Schalke setelah di Mestalla hanya mampu bermain imbang 1-1. Di fase group prestasi mereka juga cukup meyakinkan dengan hanya sekali kalah dan sekali draw (keduanya saat match tandang), selebihnya 4 kali meraih kemenangan (berarti 3 kali laga home serta sekali away).
Satu nama yang menjadi icon Schalke o4 saat ini adalah sang pangeran Madrid, Raul Gonzales, yang sepertinya kembali menemukan energinya sesaat setelah mengambil keputusan untuk meninggalkan Madrid dan bergabung dengan club Jerman ini.
